Happy Easter!
Decorating Easter Eggs
Story Time at the Library
Since arriving in Atoka, we've been going to the library for story time. Last week was our last day and Ms Alice (the same librarian who was here when I was a kid!) threw a little Easter party for the kids. It was COLD that day (our Easter freeze), so we hunted eggs in the conference room. Doesn't make for very cute pictures, but we had to memorialize the day regardless.
Paperdolls
Since Daddy was missing his girls, we decided to make a paper-Katie and a paper-Ella to send to him. So, Daddy look for them in the mail. We thought you could take them around the island and take pictures with them and it would be just like the girls were there with you. (We'll see if the arrive in any kind of form you can work with... hmmmm.)
The Zoo
Since we were in "the city", we decided to take the kiddos to the Oklahoma City zoo. Here's a few photos from our afternoon there. As you can see, it was a BEAUTIFUL day!
Here's the choo-choo train they rode ALL BY THEMSELVES! They were very brave... but, Katie kept her ears covered, just in case (her coping mechanism for when she's scared). She did that the entire ride! The second ride, however, she was brave enough to do it without covering her ears. Big girls!
Okay, so we are looking at the little monkeys, trying to take a picture. We get all excited because one of them stops near the glass and we think, GREAT, he stopped so we could take a picture and the girls could get a good look at him... Well, HE apparently was a SHE and as I was pulling out the camera, she was jumped by her boyfriend. So, the girls get a little nature lesson while viewing the monkeys at the zoo! Nice photo, huh?
Sesame Street Live
We all went to see Elmo in concert (Sesame Street Live) -- Katie & Ella, Grandma, Momma, and even Aunt Shelley went along. Katie and Ella weren't too sure at first... you can see below that Ella has her ears covered and Katie was concerned that it was dark. Big Bird came on before the show and told all the kids to stay in their seats because they were going to turn off the lights. That's all she could talk about before the show... "It's going to be dark, Mommy."
