Halloween

Halloween in Baton Rouge...

 

We started off with pumpkin carving immediately after school.... 

 

The gypsy has finished with her pumpkin... I think she is casting a spell on it!

And, the pirate has finished hers... Arrgh!

We are ready for trick-or-treating with a big FAT tiger (eating pizza)!

Unfortunately, we had the WORST weather for trick-or-treating this year... it began to rain around 4:00 and did not stop all night!  At about 7:00, with the rain still pouring, we decided it was now or never.  So, we grabbed the umbrellas and our treat bags, jumped in the van, and started down the street.  After a while, we gave up on the umbrellas, then the shoes, and eventually  the van -- we ran from house to house in the rain while mommy (or daddy - we took turns!) followed in the van.  Pretty soon, it was just too miserable -- the rain beat us and we headed home for a hot bath to warm up!  The up side?  We got lots and LOTS of candy!  There were so few trick-or-treaters out, the neighbors were handing it out by the hands full!  HAPPY HALLOWEEN BATON ROUGE!

St George Fair Day

The St. George Fair was this weekend and you invited your best friend from NOLA to join us for a day at the fair...

 

Here you are showing off your Calico Critters, playing after only 5 minutes in the car together.

The Magic Carpet ride at the fair... you were a little scared, but BFF talked you into a ride.  You loved it!

 

For a fair to count as a fair, you gotta have some cotton candy... Katie demonstrating how soft the cotton candy is my bonking herself on the head with it!

Tea Party

We were invited to have tea at a REAL tea room... the girls were so excited, they decided to dress up for the occasion.

Happy #9 Briggirls!

Katie and Ella spent their actual birthday with me.  We made and decorated cakes, Ella and Katie's favorite -- red velvet!  These are their creations...  Happy Birthday Briggirls!  I love you more than words can say... you are the best kids ever! :-)  (And you're smart and funny too!)

 

 

The City Park Disco Slumber Birthday Party!

The big party started with decorating the cakes.  We went to Rouse's and bought plain white cakes so the girls could do their own decorating this year...

The next part of the party was a day at City Park riding the rides.

First up, the train....

then bumper cars... lots and lots of bumper cars!

Then it was time to go home for dinner, cake, and the Disco Party!

Overall, it was a great party and the girls had a blast!!
